12/16/2009 Susquehanna Health Receives Gift From Reynolds Iron Works, Inc. for the "Count On Us For Life" Capital CampaignReynolds Iron Works, Inc., knows Susquehanna Health’s hospitals from the inside out. The company has played a role in structural steel fabrication and miscellaneous steel fabrication for the erection of buildings and additions at Divine Providence Hospital, Muncy Valley Hospital and Williamsport Regional Medical Center for more than four decades. The company recently made a $100,000 gift to the Count On Us For Life Capital Campaign.
"We wanted to support a project that is in the best interest of everyone in the community. We’re talking about improved medical services, attracting great doctors and offering better services which will benefit everyone," says James Reynolds, part owner and secretary/treasurer of Reynolds Iron Works.
James says the planned expansion and improvements will result in a "multiplier effect" for the entire local economy.
"When a great community like this can also offer state-of-the-art medical services, that can draw more businesses, and that creates even more businesses, which creates a demand for housing and it goes on and on," James explains. "It creates a positive cycle for the whole community."
Reynolds Iron Works is grateful for its role in structural framing for the Energy Service Center building and the core building expansion as part of Project 2012. James says it’s exciting to be part of something that will have a major impact on the community.
"Helping to build a state-of-the-art facility offers our employees the opportunity to contribute to something that is going to help save lives and make life more comfortable for everyone," says James.
Reynolds Iron Works, Inc., is Pennsylvania’s second oldest steel fabricator/manufacturer. Founded in 1921, the Williamsport-based company has seen four generations of the Reynolds family involved in its ownership and operations.
