8/3/2009 Family Medicine Residency Program Holds GraduationOn June 26, six new family medicine physicians graduated from the 34th Class of The Williamsport Hospital & Medical Center’s Family Medicine Residency Program. Graduates included: Douglas Charles, DO, Abby Ezero, MD, Jendy Harer, DO, Mandy Maneval, MD, PhD, Nathan Mason, MD and Robert Muller, MD. During graduation ceremonies, the following awards were presented:

Hannen, MD Memorial Award presented to: Mandy Maneval, MD, PhD • Teacher of the Year Awards presented to: - Karen Clark, CRNP – Palliative Care, Inpatient - Teresa Bianco, MD – Psychiatry, Outpatient • Lycoming County Chapter - Pennsylvania Academy of Family Practice Resident of the Year Award presented to: Douglas Charles, DO • C.A.P. Peters II, MD Memorial Award (goes to a 2nd Year Resident) presented to: Militza Ausmanas, MD • Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Resident Teacher Award presented to: Mandy Maneval, MD, PhD • Edward Lyon's Award For Excellence in Obstetrics & Gynecology presented to: Mandy Maneval, MD, PhD • Arthur R. Taylor, M.D., CME Award presented to: - Mandy Maneval, MD, Ph D -1st place - Douglas Charles, DO – 2nd Place - Jendy Harer, DO – 3rd Place
And now that they’ve graduated, where will they practice Family Medicine?
Dr. Nathan Mason has accepted a position with Sweet Home Family Medicine in Sweet Home Oregon. The office is affiliated with Samaritan Health Services (SHS) which is a network of Oregon hospitals, physicians and senior care facilities that serve the mid-Willamette Valley and the Central Oregon Coast.
Dr. Douglas Charles has accepted a position with a group practice and will split time between two office locations - one in Lykens, PA located in Upper Dauphin County and one in Herndon, PA located in Northumberland County.
Dr. Jendy Harer has accepted a position with the Family Practice Center in Montoursville, PA. She joins David Kuhns, MD, Allen Wetzel, MD and Quinn Kirk, MD.
Dr. Mandy Maneval has accepted a position with a new rural family practice center closer to her home in Richfield, PA. Once the practice is up and off the ground, she’ll use the other two days to get back to Hershey to teach and do research.
Dr. Abby Ezero has joined the Susquehanna Health Medical Group at the Community Health Center.
Dr. Robert Muller is moving to Stanley, ND, to fulfill his National Health Service Corps Scholarship in a “rural area,” with Mountrail County Medical Center. He will be in charge of a 12-bed hospital.
