C.A.R.E. Employee Of The Month - December 2009

Randy Metzger, Rehabilitation Services, WRMC

Congratulations to Randy Metzger, our C.A.R.E. Employee of the Month! A long-term employee, Randy is loyal and dependable. He willingly assists in the department when asked and has even scheduled patients over his lunch. He finds the good in others and makes everyone feel comfortable when they have the opportunity to work with him. As the driving instructor for Rehabilitation Services, Randy’s compassionate handling of patients who are no longer able to drive safely is especially appreciated. He treats his peers with respect and is always a gentleman. He has a great sense of humor and his co-workers truly enjoy working with him. In his spare time, he enjoys camping and riding ATV’s with his family, which consists of his wife Candi, two sons Mikell and Evan and daughters Tonya, Sara and Katie and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Cynnamon. Randy says, "I believe we are all put here to honor God and one way of doing that is by caring for others."

Robert Silberg, MD, Anesthesiology, WRMC

Courteous, respectful, personable and competent are just some of the words that describe Susquehanna Health's Summer C.A.R.E. Physician. Dr. Silberg is very kind and patient with the paramedic and anesthesia students as he instills confidence in them. He has a great sense of humor and is easy to talk to; he is approachable and answers any questions. When contacted by phone, even on very busy days, he remains calm, polite and helpful. He reviews patient history and thoughtfully considers their readiness for surgery. He treats everyone the same—no matter what position they hold. Dr. Silberg works well under stress and is always a team player. He helps problem solve by sharing his skills and knowledge. Congratulations Dr. Silberg, on being named a C.A.R.E. Physician!

Denise White, Skilled Nursing Unit

“Denise is dedicated and loyal to the Skilled Nursing Unit residents and staff. She is funny and creative and you can tell she loves what she does. Her enthusiasm is contagious and she has a unique way of making learning fun. Her teaching methods inspire staff. She is also a great team builder who brings energy to any project she undertakes. The very best for our residents is always at the heart of everything she does. Thank you Denise, we are proud and fortunate to have you on our team.”

She remains calm and unwavering in the most stressful and frustrating situations and has never raised her voice or sp0oken down to anyone.
