Injury Clinic

Orthopedists, certified athletic trainers and physical therapists attend to the injured athlete using the latest techniques in evaluation of musculoskeletal problems, rehabilitation and exercise instruction.

By using a team approach, we identify the specific needs of each individual. This multidisciplinary approach allows for patient goals and individual treatment plans to be accomplished quickly and effectively. Orthopedic surgeons are available for appointments Monday-Thurday in The Sports Medicine Center at Divine Providence Hospital, to diagnose and establish a treatment plan for injured individuals.

The athlete, athletic trainer and/or coach receive written information outlining a treatment plan.

To schedule an appointment with one of our physicians please call 570-320-7456 or 1-800-321-2WIN.

Orthotics

Prescription orthotics are shoe inserts that are custom made to correct individual foot problems. Faulty mechanics or misalignments in the lower extremity can lead to a significant amount of discomfort. A detailed biomechanical evaluation can provide the information needed to correct even the smallest dysfunction. To make an appointment for custom-made orthotics, please call 570-320-7456 or 1-800-321-2WIN. Please be sure to bring the referring doctor's prescription along to the visit.

Brace Products

The Sports Medicine Center offers a variety of off-the-shelf brace products. These include, but are not limited to braces for the:

  • Ankle.
  • Elbow.
  • Knee.
  • Lower Back.
  • Shoulder.
  • Thumb.
  • Wrist.

Many braces are in stock, however we can special order any brace, usually within three working days. We can also fit and order custom braces too.

For patients whose insurance providers cover brace products (Durable Medical Equipment-or DME), we can bill for these as long as that insurance provider considers Susquehanna Health a DME provider. However, not all braces can be billed to insurance—please check with your provider prior to your visit to see if you have a DME option within your plan. If the brace the doctor wants you to use is not covered by your plan, you will be asked to pay for your brace at the time of service. Patients can pay for braces with cash, check or charge.
