SH is an alliance of three hospitals that was formed in 1994. For many years we have been named one of the nation's 100 Most Wired Hospitals and Healthcare Systems by Hospitals & Health Networks for our aggressive use of online technologies and Web site development. Our orthopedic service was recognized in Modern Healthcare as one of the national award winners according to the "Top 100 Hospitals: Benchmarks for Success Study." A recent national inpatient satisfaction survey conducted by Press, Ganey Associates, Inc., ranks the quality of our nursing care in the top two percent in Pennsylvania and in the top six percent for the skill of our doctors.

The Family Medicine Residency Program is an integral part of our overall services and our commitment to the education of future healthcare professionals. More than 150 physicians make up our faculty, and these skilled professionals bring years of hands-on medical expertise to our residents and help instill in them our high quality and compassionate care.
