Susquehanna Health Cancer Center is the most advanced and complete cancer center in North Central Pennsylvania. Our board-certified cancer care specialists and radiologists specialize in the treatment of breast, prostate, ovarian, lung and colon cancers. Through our partnership with Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, our medical team works with world-renowned specialists to deliver the most advanced treatment therapies available – including clinical trials.

Clinical Trials Offer Hope for a Cure

In 2005, Susquehanna Health entered into an affiliation with the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute to offer our patients an opportunity to benefit from the very latest in national research findings and new outreach programs. This partnership also provides our patients with innovative clinical studies. Currently, The Susquehanna Health Cancer Center, in affiliation with the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, is participating in clinical trials through the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group. We currently have trials in the following areas open for patient enrollment: breast cancer, colorectal cancer, esophageal cancer, kidney cancer, lung cancer, melanoma and myeloma.

Clinical trials evaluate the effectiveness of new cancer therapies. They are crucial because it is only through cancer research that medical science and health care providers can hope to cure, rather than simply treat cancer. Clinical trials help the medical community with information on ways to treat and diagnose cancer and provide patients with access to the latest and most promising technologies. With the growth of the oncology clinical trials through this Penn State partnership, our patients have access to new research treatments without traveling out of the area.

Our New Facility

A Full-Service Cancer Center

Susquehanna Health is proud to introduce our new Cancer Center, located on the Divine Providence Hospital Campus. Here, in conjunction with Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, we are able to provide a full spectrum of services for our patients, from diagnosis to cancer treatments – including radiation and chemotherapy – and support programs. By bringing all of these services under one roof, we've made it more convenient for our patients who travel long distances to receive their care. One special feature of our cancer center is a healing garden which patients can observe from the treatment rooms or explore fully when the weather permits.
